We look forward to your Bach Boats Party!
To help you prepare for your Boat day, here are some helpful answers to our frequently asked questions:
WHAT DO WE DO ON OUR BACH BOAT DAY?
WHERE WILL YOU PICK US UP?
We have multiple docking locations to pick you up. Before your trip, we will let you know the most convenient location based on your travel plans or hotel location.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
Storage space can be in short supply with a lot of folks on board so please consider limiting items to towels, phones and any other necessary personal items. There are dry spaces on board for cameras and anything else you want to keep dry. You may bring your own floaties, snorkels, masks and beach toys within reason.
CAN WE DECORATE THE BOAT FOR OUR PARTY?
We suggest keeping the decorations minimal and mobile, please no balloons, streamers, etc. It is windy out on the water and at speed the decor will shred and blow over board. Banners can be hung once we are anchored up safely. There are lots of other fun, boat approved extras that can enhance your themed party such as matching towels, coverups, tank tops, sun hats, glasses, small sunscreens, lip balms and koozies.
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN ALCOHOL?
Yes, bring that White Claw and other seltzers however for the safety of our guests and care of the boat, we do not allow hard liquor or red wine on the boat. We want you to enjoy your time, however we require responsible drinking and respectful behavior at all times. Please no glass bottles if possible.
DO YOU HAVE A COOLER ON BOARD?
Yes, we have a small cooler with ice and bottled water provided for your convenience. Please feel free to bring your own small cooler for more capacity if necessary. No Styrofoam coolers please.
DO YOU HAVE MUSIC ON THE BOAT?
Yes, we have radios, as well you can connect your device (phone/Ipod) to our sound system using Bluetooth.
CAN WE BRING FOOD OR SNACKS?
Yes, you may bring sandwiches or snacks (please nothing greasy or that might stain), or we can take you to eat at waterfront restaurants if desired.
CAN WE SMOKE ON BOARD?
No, for safety reasons there is no smoking allowed on board the boat.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Weather appropriate clothing, sun protection hats/glasses and your swimwear! The temperature may feel cooler while on the water and at speed, in fall, winter and spring months, please bring something warm to wear or even a blanket just in case.
DO I NEED SEA SICKNESS MEDICATION?
We do not provide sea sickness medication, but if you are concerned we recommend seeing your doctor for the patches as they are very effective. We make every effort to make sure your boat day will be smooth, with the inherent nature of boating, and because weather conditions change, we will experience some waves and motion. Please rest assured the Gulf water waves are lesser than open oceans and are mostly peaceful.
WHAT KIND OF WILDLIFE WILL WE SEE?
The barrier islands and surrounding waterways are filled with lots of creatures that swim, crawl and fly. It is possible we will see dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, rays, fish, seabirds, crabs and more.
IS THERE A BATHROOM ON BOARD?
No, please ask all guests to use the bathroom before departing. If you need to go to the bathroom while out on the water, you’ll need to go in the water, or the captain can take the group to a nearby island, marina, or restaurant.
SHOULD WE TIP THE CAPTAIN?
It is always appreciated. We recommend the same % you would give at a restaurant. Please note that for reservations requiring multiple boats, a 20% gratuity is charged and split evenly between your captains.
WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD AND WE CAN’T GO BOATING?
We will reschedule your boat day if possible. If that is not an option, you get a full refund.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
If you need to cancel for any reason, just let us know at least 24 hours in advance and you will get a full refund.
